Delivery Flyer, To-Go Menu and Dine-In Menu for Restaurant

Thai Topaz Restaurant

1) 8.5x11 Delivery Flyer - Will need to incorporate restaurant logo and logo/details of delivery service we partnered with (see www.thaitopaz-sat.com/delivery). Will also need to conform to USPS (United States Postal Service) layout (i.e. include small postage-stamp area and address-box area). Full Lunch and Dinner menu to be included. 2) To-Go Menu – To-Go menu to be handed out to customers. Full Lunch and Dinner menu to be included. Will need to incorporate restaurant logo and modern design. 3) Dine-In Menu – a new full menu for our restaurant. Currently, we have them as separate menus (i.e. we have a lunch special menu and a separate dinner menu). Please go to website to download current menus, and incorporate picture gallery into design.

Food

1) 8.5x11 Delivery Flyer – Residential and Businesses. This will be sent as a standalone flyer and should incorporate modern colors and health-focused concept of restaurant. 2) To-Go Menu – Any customer (dine-in, to-go, catering, corporate, etc.) wanting a To-Go menu. Also, needs to incorporate modern colors and health-focused concept of restaurant. 3) Dine-In Menu - Handed out to Dine-In customers only; may be posted online. Also, needs to incorporate modern colors and health-focused concept of restaurant.

Designers, After seeing some of the questions and designs, we've decided to narrow down the specification to hopefully make it easier. Delivery Flyer: - A4 (8.5 x 11) size - Full Dinner Menu ONLY (No Lunch) as most of our deliveries are dinner, and to give everyone some space. To-Go Menu: - Legal (8.5 x 14 inches) size - We've commonly seen this as a tri-fold. Include FULL MENU (Lunch and Dinner). As a guide, we'd like to see at least the following: a) FRONT - design with our logo, b) BACK - our full Lunch Menu, c) FOLD/INSIDE1/INSIDE2/INSIDE3 - our full Dinner Menu and some space for some basic info on restaurant. Dine-In Menu: - Legal (8.5 x 14) size - Include full menu (Dinner and Lunch) on front and back, NO FOLDS (you might have imaginary folds for better visual separation, but we're thinking of just handing out a one-pager). We will laminate this ourselves. You have the freedom to extend your current design to this menu. What some designers have done is send an initial Delivery flyer to show us their design and if we believe it can be extended to the other materials (i.e. To-Go Menu and Dine-In Menu). This is fine, as some of you have written and received private feedback, we extensively comment on your design to try and give the best direction. Don't hesitate to write and we'll do our best to respond quickly; but, for sure, we'll follow our correspondence schedule below. But, shortly after our first feedback, if you only sent one design, we will want to see that design extended to ALL THREE materials, so that we can quickly give feedback and quickly request tweaks to choose an eventual winner.

Designers, In future submittals: - please tell us dimensions of each design. Given the timeframe, the "Delivery Flyer" should be 8.5x11, but the other materials (i.e. To-Go flyer and Dine-In menu) can be different sizes than 8.5x11 (A4). We understand that there might be some space constraints, but would like to see ALL the menu items added into each design first BEFORE we decide to delete anything. There is some flexibility in the To-Go and Dine-In menus to fit everything, plus add your own designs to highlight our overall, healthy, modern, trendy concept. Our correspondence schedule: - We will likely send messsages and/or add public comments after 12 AM CST, given our schedule (our business hours, not store hours, are from 9:30 am to around 10:00 pm, with some time in between). As some of you already have, don't hesitate to send us a private message and we'll do our best to respond quickly.

Star Rating Explanation: 1 - Not in right direction. 2 - Has some elements and followed brief (i.e. use of logo, Healthy, Modern/Cutting-Edge/Simple-Clean/Fine-Dining, Thai/Asian-Influence/Concept). There are specific element(s) that we like, but would like to see new design (will send private message to clarify or feel free to send us message anytime). 3 - Has most elements BUT "not quite feeling" the overall design and/or look-and-feel. In right direction. 4 - Has all elements AND "liking" overall design and/or look-and-feel. Needs tweaking. 5 - Has all elements AND "loving" overall design and/or look-and-feel. May need some tweaking.

kristyjamison - this may take a day or two to contact the printing company to ask, see the sample (is it just a 9x15 folded lengthwise for four 9x7.5 sides to print on?), and verify with USPS specifications (not sure if it can be folded). Are you saying that we may not have enough space on two sides of the A4 (8.5x11)? boygraphics - 3 in total, one delivery flyer, one to-go menu, and one dine-in menu.

Designers, Please accept our apologies for just replying now. Before launching this project, we had extensively spoken to our customer rep, asked him to review our brief, revised the brief and he entered our information into the system. After we launched the project, a person from customer support wrote us an email that we may have been put into the wrong category and may need to be changed. Unfortunately, we tried to contact our customer rep, but he was out of the office until today, apologizing for the miscommunication and that we should proceed with our current project (that was just a few hours back). With that being said, this is our second project (our first was a logo design that's currently superimposed on our website on the top, left-hand corner). We have been and will continue to respond at least once a day to everyone's feedback. We were quite happy with our results last time and hope that this project will be no different. Finally, since our store just closed and it's late at night (we're in CST), we will read everyone's public and private comments and respond by tomorrow when we've had a chance to get everyone in the room to review. Regards, Thai Topaz

ThaiTopaz, I just looked over your menus. I think you have many more items (especially with your expansive dinner menu) than will be able to fit on one letter sized flyer. Your best option, in my opinion, would be to contact your printer and ask if they can do something like a 9x15 double parallel fold. You'll be able to fit much more and still be able to mail it... I would be happy to try my hand at designing your menus, but not with such limited space... Your menus will likely be unreadable. I hope you'll consider my advice :) Thanks! Thanks!
