the only thing I don't want to see is something like a cheesy little camera icon as part of the logo. I'm potentially open to an icon of sorts, but it can't look like a wedding or event photographer's.
The logos I respond most positively to are text-based. Perhaps a custom font?

Also - we're a 2-person company. I'd like to see different ways of separating the names. We're currently using a graphical element (lightning bolt). About that lightning bolt - we like it, but we're looking to retire it & move on to something a little grown up (but not boring).

I would like to see a couple options using a font similar to the one on
this link as well:
