Redesign of CAT VIDEO site

Animal TV

Entertainment

www.catvideooftheweek.com

Animal TV runs 5 sites which are topic specific (Cat, Dog, Animal, Baby and People) all our content is vetted and family friendly.

The CatVideooftheWeek logo seen on the existing page MUST stay, but all other elements can be changed. You should add up to 3 Google Ad elements. You can change the size of the video thumbnails, but you should highlight the video of the week. All functions currently on the page should stay, but the look, feel and placement of the buttons can change. I need a balance between good user experience and optimize the advertising clickthrough.

The look should be fresh and inviting, but not clinical. I prefer a clean website, because the ad elements and video thumbnails will already make the page look busy.

Thank you for the submissions thus far. A majority of the submissions have come in looking extremely similar to the original site. I am looking for more original - out-of-the box thinking based on strong user experience and ad optimisation. For example, you can go to the Google adsense site and see the various available sizes. https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/2953032?hl=en I'd recommend: 720x90 and 300x250 as they are very popular sizes. You want to keep some of these ads above the fold. Put them too low on the page and they are not optimised. The video thumbnails can differ in size also, even the video of the week can be small if its highlighted properly. I think from a user point of view, they prefer to have access to many videos on the page. What do you think? Have fun with this, think out of the box and let's do something that is a fun user experience, but ads that they can see.
