FILMJACKETS.COM

Reel Jackets for Real People...

No

FILMJACKETS.COM is a business that was initially founded as an information-only website in April of 2007, and quickly became the "go-to" place for anybody trying to identify and/or locate their favorite celebrity jacket styles from films and television. FILMJACKETS.COM offers a very user-friendly message board where jackets are requested, identified, located and discussed. The site is customer-orientated and focuses on bringing these jacket replicas to each and every customer in a manner that best fits their lifestyle.

Our typical colors have been blue, black, gray and white, but we are open to suggestions.

We are currently using the BladeRunner font as it is a nice recognizable font for those who are film buffs. We do not want anything that looks cartoonish or playful.

Good morning, I like where #35 is going assuming that is a reel of film. Can that be indicated more with a different style reel? Draft #36 is interesting, but the "FJ" lettering looks like playing cards.

I appreciate the alternate designs for the black shirts and mugs. It really helps us see what this logo will look like. Draft #30 was too "over-the-top." There is something that is very close to what we want with design #9/#26 - again, we are hoping the design we choose will have elements of both film AND jackets, as we are selling jackets from film and television.

The contest has been extended and the prize money has been increased. There are concerns about the ability of some of the designs to stand up on a black t-shirt/hat for example. I am not certain if that consideration has been given in the drafts that have been submitted so far. Designs #22, #23 and #24 almost give the impression of a zippered wallet/purse. To reiterate, the logo should look equally at home on a mug, t-shirt and bumper sticker. We at FILMJACKETS.COM would like to thank all designers who are participating in this project as it is interesting to see how professionals perceive the company and how we should best represent it.

Designers, I really appreciate the designs. The ones that are favored the most seem to be ones that: a) use our current colors, although draft #1 is really nice too. Maybe a thicker, rugged font would make that better? b) incorporate both the film concept AND the jacket concept. c) can use the logo independently of the site name. Both will be used in marketing, but the logo itself can stand alone. I may extend the contest a bit as the designs keep getting better. Thank you so much.

I have been studying these drafts and trialing them on virtual coffee mugs and t-shirts. There are three that have caught our eye: Draft #1 removes the notion that the "film" is medical or x-ray film (a common confusion, actually). Looks great on a T-shirt, hat or bumper sticker, but not as good on a mug or smaller items. Drafts #5 and #6 have a nice classy feel to them with the "F" and "J" logo. We are hoping to use only an abstract mark to identify our products in the future. That is, we want to remove the site name from certain items and still have our brand recognizable by the abstract mark. (for example a stamped zipper with the "fj" on it). In draft #5, the "F" and "J" are not distinct enough - in fact, at first glance, I thought it was only an "F" - but draft #6 makes it obvious. The circle from draft #5 is gone though, and that was a nice touch. Draft #9 looks terrific on a mug, tote bag and a small insignia on a the left breast of a shirt, but is awkward on items like bumper stickers, pens, etc. This is our favorite to date as it is clean and crisp and it incorporates the "film" aspect, the "jacket" aspect, it can be used with or without the "filmjackets.com", it uses our current site color and the design suggests a star without being blatant about it. It is a nice clean design.
