Creative Brief

Hostal Pakaloro

Hostal Pakaloro

No

This design is for a hostal in Ecuador in a very bohemian surfer beach town where tiki and artesanal design is prominent. The hostal has a long history in town as one of the best (first as cabanas, but most recently rebuilt as modern rooms with big balconies, hammocks, and ocean view). I don't want anything modern looking such as round text. The most important part about the logo is that it should have the FACE of a gold and blue macaw...nothing cartoonish please, but not completely foto like either otherwise I could just use a picture. It could be styled as a paint brush stroke type image with focus on the zebra like pattern of the macaw around the eyes. The logo should have the face of the macaw and the text Hostal Pakaloro in Orange. Other minor images that may be used are a hammock and surfboard although not necessary by any means. Thanks!

I am looking at Design #26 by neonlite as the top pick so far. I would like some modifications: 1) The eye should be more almond shaped (less round) and bluer (strong turqouise)as in the drawing I provided and it should be more centered between the black lines as in the picture I provided. (2) The yellow of the neck should be a strong bright yellow. (3) The word Pakaloro should be in a strong blue (the blue color of the bird as shown in the images I uploaded) and stand out and the word Hostal should be a strong yellow (the yellow color of the bird as shown in the images I uploaded) and the word Hostal should be smaller than Pakaloro and the word Hostal should not be on the same line as Pakaloro and the word Hostal should be to the left of the bird's head. (4) The ring around the bird's head should transition from blue to yellow as those are the two main colors of the bird. Finally, please try to approximate as much as possible the eye in my drawing as I do not want my bird to look mean, just strong. Thanks so much for reviewing my comments.

Attention Designers: Kindly refer to the attachment in the brief titled as 'Pakaloro_Image_STROKE_001_12201.jpg' and follow the instructions as given below: Please improve on this picture that I drew. It was my best intent to give a feel for the "stroke style" that I wanted; that is to say, something that does not look too commercial, something that looks more artistic/ artesanal. Please note that the bird in the picture looks strong and enigmatic partly due to the fact that I made his eyes almond shaped and colored them blue. Also please note that with the exception of the blue eyes, I tried not to color anything in and used strokes to fill in spaces. The beak I lighly colored in but also managed to use strokes. Thank you. Zach.
