motherwalk 5k / Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation

making a difference for our mothers, daughters sisters & friends

No

This is for a 5k to raise funds for ovarian cancer research. This is our 9th year and in the past there has just been a photo image of norma livingston with walk for her written under it. We have voted to "brand" the motherwalk with something better, more clever and interesting . It is a 5k run or walk and a 1 mile fun run. All ages participate. Along with fund raising it rallies support for ovarian cancer survivors and for the families of the women and girls who died. 22,000 women diagnosed in 2011 and 15,000 dies. This is a very deadly cancer that is difficult to diagnosis and carries a high mortality rate unless caught early which is difficult to do. It affects women of all ages. The youngest I know is 8. The majority are 35 - 75. The walk was started by Lori Livingston when her mother Norma Livingston lost her battle with ovarian cancer shortly after being diagnosed. The color ribbon used to symbolize ovarian cancer is "teal" like pink is for breast cancer. The event is a family friendly event with music, food, child craft area, etc. It last through the morning a few hours after the run is over and awards have been given out.
Our website is: nlovca.org You will see the NLOCF logo there. Plus minus incorporating it into the "Motherwalk" logo

Abstract

teal for sure and what ever you think. check our website: nlovca.org other websites for color and other info and color at: ovarian.org & ovariancancer.org google cafepress and search ovarian cancer

not sure

motherwalk- does need to be some where in the logo
Using hope, courage, cure etc. are fine in a small way. That is something to convey but they are pretty over used as stand alone words with the big teal ribbon. Not saying to use them though.
Would love to come up with something catchy. It is obviously much easier with "boobs" for breast cancer than ovaries. I mean you know "save the tata's" is pretty fun, lol. I hope you can help and design the most wonderful clever logo for us!
??? ovarian cancer hits below the belt, , a pair or running ovaries, teal ribbons running with women, cheesie I know that's why I need you!
Thanks

: ) Thank you to all who have worked so hard on this project. I so appreciate everyones efforts and talent. With your help & design I will continue to fight ovarian cancer, raise funds for research that will find a test to detect this horrible cancer in women at earlier stages. In 2012, 22,000 women will be diagnosed and 15,000 will die because it is not found until advanced stages 76% of the time. Know the signs & symptoms- abdominal pain/discomfort, bloating, feeling full quickly when eating, frequent need to urinate. Teach others to not ignore these symptoms and be followed up to rule out ovarian cancer. Knowledge = life!!! THANK YOU ALL!!! Sincerely, Cindi

#103 expand the Motherwalk font like you did Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Leave Ovarian Cancer foundation as in # 102. * note* Spelling is FOUNDATION, oops.

Love the energy of # 101. Wonder if the 5k over powers motherwalk?

3,7,30, 31,41,55,67,68,87,91,96,99 are my favorites thus far. Like #100 but think the ribbon around the waist should be teal- the ovarian cancer ribbon color.

    # 77 looks just like # 68. I do not think that is fair.

The white one in # 73 but without a background. Keeping everything else the same.

    # 75 to busy. I would prefer to see # 73 as is but without a back ground and a running person not a jumping person.

    # 74 would like this more with a runner or 2 and with out the star burst design in the back ground and a darker teal ribbon. Interesting.

#70, 71 seem to busy. #72 don't love the jumping lady. #62, 63, 64, 65 don't like the untied ribbon. # 68 like the clean look. # 57 interesting idea having more than one silhouette. Strange I know but I would prefer them going the other direction (to the right) I can't believe time is almost up. I am loving all of the creative work.

Favorite thus far #3,7,8,30,31,33,34 & #36 with slight change - looks a little off balance on the top and would put the norma Livingston line on top of the ovarian cancer foundation keeping the font sizes as you have them # 22 without egg I am getting so encouraged by everyones design interest and love the talent displayed. Thank you !!!

    # 23/24 doesn't seem to have enough energy or enthusiasm. # 21, 22, 25 board has decided not to go forward with the "egg" used in the past. Sorry. Perhaps that could be deleted. #19 too busy #16 too juvenile, needs more sex appeal
