Describe who/what this design is about

We are an online custom oil painting company. Where users will upload their favorite and treasured photographs and receive real paintings by real artists. These painting will tend to have an impressionist style. Also, for each type of painting a portion of the proceeds will go to a charity based on the theme. (EX: animal portraits have a portion of proceeds go to the humane society) The more art in the world and the more money donated to charity the better off planet earth will be.

We are open to interpretation. Looking for positive feeling colors. Impressionism may be a good inspiration.

Do you have any additional suggestions or ideas?

We are looking for something that is differentiating and easy to remember/identify. We want the logo to look professional, not mom and pop small business cheesy. It's a balancing act considering the product we are selling, custom oil paintings.

Thanks for the additional entries everyone. Followed are comments: benben I am liking #22, but the colors are off, they don't feel much like a impressionist painting and the red is too much I think. I like #21, and #24, I know you are 2 competitors but I think a marrage of these two pieces could look great (I like the symbol from #24, it is on the right track) Madiha, I like the symbol from #37 and #38, but I am not sure about the fort, it needs to me cleaner and more integrated. Amohs, #39 looks very professional which I like, but I am not sure the picture is applicable, it seems more like the logo for a logistics company.

Hi Sarah Fisher, you may be on to something with #13, but the text should be more web 2.0 like and more needs to be done with the colors than the circles, refer to the links to the logos I like.

We are getting closer but still have a ways to go. I am really looking for a logo that goes with a modern online site. I know we are selling paintings but I want it to looks modern and professional and not so 'crafty'. Perhaps stay away from the paint brushes and pallets, at least not in such a figurative way.
