Creative Brief

The Bake Mobile :: logo for a food truck

Bake Mobile

No

The Bake Mobile will be a new UK based food truck selling sweet bakery goods such as cakes, cookies, brownies, cupcakes and the like.

-

We will initially be selling from the streets, at markets, outside shopping centres etc., but hope to soon progress to larger venues such as festivals. As such an eye-catching appearance and style for the van itself is of the utmost importance, and so what better place to start than a pretty sweet logo.

-
That said I do have a specific idea in mind as for what the logo should look like, so please see the "additional suggestions" box for more info.

I would like a sky / baby blue for the van itself, and a bright orange for the text colour. Black or white may be used to outline if necessary.

Sorry to restrict the flowing of anybodies' creative juices, but I do already have a pretty specific idea of what I want the logo to look like.

-

Essentially what I'm after is a side on profile of the van, with "Bake Mobile" written on its side (thus mirroring the appearance of the actual van, which will have its name on its side, with the logo on the front & back). As mentioned previously the van should be a solid sky or baby blue (no details showing, just the van outline with the exception of the wheels and cutouts for the side windows) and the text should be bright orange and mostly fill the whole side of the van.

The van is a 2007 Renault Master, images of which I have included in the zip file below.

-

In addition I also have sketched the style of font that should be used for the text (also included in the zip file). If possible I'd like the lines thickened though and also the edges smoothed out and just generally made to look a bit neater (evidently there's a reason why I'm the buyer of a logo and not the designer of one).

This text will also be used on its own on the side of the van, so will need to be supplied separately from the finished logo.
(So to clarify: the logo text should be only "Bake Mobile" whilst the text I'll be using on the actual van will be "The Bake Mobile", so the "The" only needs to be included in the separate text-only file.)

-

Whilst the above is my idea for the logo, if you feel that you have a better one or can make improvements to this one then by all means feel free to submit it and I may just change my mind.

-

The finished logo and separate text should be supplied in true vector as well as all the usual formats.

-

Many thanks and the best of luck!

Hi designers, just a few comments. Contrary to the project brief, I now think that a custom font is preferable for the text, as opposed to the text that I provided. Also I prefer the look of the logos where the van is not simply an outline of the picture I gave. For example I particularly like the smoother more rounded vans in #47 and #57. Many thanks, Ben.

Oh and mangozie, I think GrphMchne was referring to the little chef's hat on the top left of the text. That said I'm not really looking to have pictures accompanying the text so fortunately it becomes a moot point.

Hello! Thank you for all your submissions so far. General comments: whilst I imagine it's more boring for you guys as designers, I'm looking for a plainer design, so just the text and van outline really. No cookie/cake images or internal van details (with the exception of the wheels/windows if desired). The text should also be contained within the van outline itself. If this makes for problems with spacing or font size then the van dimensions can be changed if necessary (eg. made taller). I'm also actually quite liking the different font choices (as opposed to my original design) so do feel free to explore that route if you prefer. #4 GrphMchne - I really like the colours you've used. Could you try capitalising the 'M', keeping the text inside the van and removing the line beneath the window? #6 DistinctGSX - I like the font, but the van needs to be the specific model I gave. Also a light blue for it if possible. #7 Anonymousll - What can I say, I think we have winner.
