Dear Designers Thank you all for participating in this project. I really appreciate all the creative ideas and the variety of approaches to this project. The final design resonated with the concept I had in mind more than any of the others. Thank you all for your talents and patience in doing this work.

UPDATE-I'm starting to think the abstract symbol denoting touchstone should not be used. It's just not reading visually. I am not a designer (as you've probably figured out) Instead, what if the impact is all in the font. What if the top of the "T" in Touchstone had a stroke going into it and the "m" in wisdom had the streak/stroke coming out of it. Subway sandwich has an arrow on each side (S/y) Experiment with it-try different color schemes and fonts-just so it's very readable and pops.I'm thinking the black/gold/silver in two tones is looking good in some of hte samples. What about the words Touchstone Wisdom being within a circle and Celebrating.....in the middle -Similar to how Starbuck Coffee is but no graphic in the middle-words instead. There are many meanings to touchstone-it also means a standard to measure the worth of something. I hope this makes your job easier so the focus is on the words/their placement/colors

Comments in general-as I see the submissions, each one has some good elements in it. I think that the fonts should be masculine-gradations from black/grey/gold.With Touchstone (dark)moving to Wisdom (lighter, but with an outline so it doesn't fade out onto the background) The symbol needs to be both masculine and feminine. No hearts, crosses, hands, candles. Abstract symbol.with movement,a stroke, etc.

#11 I like how clean and simple it is. The blossom looks like a lotus which might denote buddhism. I represent all faiths, but Christian and Buddhist are the areas I have the most background in. Can you make the lettering a little more compact-the T & W larger than the other letters and the symbol smaller. perhaps the gold outline of the petals moving out into a streak on one or more of the petals.

#9 I like the font and the two colors in the lettering. Can you abstract the symbol more. Elongate the whole thing so it's narrow and the gold streak is going across the stone-much smaller. Something like a zig zag or lightning. If the gold streak can be the same shade (with some gradations) as in the font Wisdom, Thanks for responding to my suggestions. Colors violet/silver-not the pinks/corals.

General comment-I don't know if this helps or not. ORIGINAL MEANING of Touchstone Around 750 BC, someone observed how a distinctive streak was left upon a smooth, black stone when it was “touched” by pure gold. By carrying about a black stone that held the mark of true gold, people could test the authenticity of any piece of gold offered in trade. One would simply stroke the offered gold item upon the stone and compare that mark against the first streak. If the marks matched, the payment offered could be trusted. If you look at Touchstone Television and Pictures, that concept is there with the streak, so your design would need to be different to avoid copyright issues. The "streak" on the stone is meaningful, but more abstract could work-bold slash of gold. Less literal with the stone.

#6 This is getting much closer to the concept! I'd like to see the font bolder and the symbol smaller, perhaps to the left side. What if the font had one word in silver (Touchstone) and the other in gold (Wisdom) or some type of contrast. How does this look if it's a white background?

Trying to convey the idea of a touchstone in the abstract would be ideal. A touchstone is usually a dark or black stone that helps to identify precious metals, such as gold or silver. Contrasting colors with the visual of a "spark" or revealing of sparkling metal is a difficult concept to represent in a clean, simple way. The business is not for every young person. Most likely, it will only speak to those young people who are very spiritually developed and have the spark to become spiritual activists. So I see whatever colors that are used to be contrasting with that glistening(or possibly rays) aspect-perhaps in the font. I appreciate everyone's efforts.

Draft #1-I prefer a more abstract/symbolic design. The cross denotes Christianity and limits the appeal. Please read the brief.
