Describe who/what this design is about

Travel Homework is a web based company that recommends books, movies and educational media to the educated traveler in order for the traveler to make the most out of their trip. It will include comprehensive lists of appropriate books, movies and educational sources for destinations all over the world. The customer will be able to purchase these items through the site.

The books recommended are not "travel guide books" but rather the best fiction, non fiction etc..that gives the reader insight into the history, culture and pulse of their destination

The customer is a curious, educated person who wants to learn.

The website will also recommend books and movies for children who travel.

The website is www.travelhomework.com...although it is just in its beginning stages so there is little content and no design work has been done

classy, simple and modern colors scheme (not black, not pastels, not pure primary either)

Do you have any additional suggestions or ideas?

I think I want a simple symbol and then the words TravelHomework on the same line. (With coordinating colors etc..)

I don't want any sunset, beach look etc..since these travelers are usually not the type that would go for a beach vacation. I also wouldn't want to go with something that would look like "adventure travel" (e.g. mountain climbing etc...)

the website simplyrecipes.com has a nice feel

Draft #39-I'm very close to finalizing. Thank you! Could you please try one more that doesn't have the shadow under the globe. It would be the exact same as #39, but without the shadow. It looks as if I will choose either 39 or the one without the shadow.

#33 and 31 - Looking better, but would you please try the pencil even a bit smaller. Closer to the size of the arrow in #18. (I still like 18, too) Thank you for your multiple drafts.

#17, 21, 22 - I like the consistency in colors...but now I'm wondering if we took #17 and used the blues, black on the clip and the browns from the words. (There would just be blues and browns and that tiny bit of black). So, the books would not be so bright, and would rather match the browns of the words. So it would be blue/black film clip, brown book, other brown book, blue book and then the brown words. Thanks for your work.

#18 - yes, I like green/blue colors better. My favorite so far. Here is another idea.... I was wondering if you could try a version with green/blue where only the arrow is a "yellow pencil looking arrow" with the point being the lead part, and the bottom part being the eraser. Since the company name has "homework" and a pencil kind of symbolizes homework, it may be an interesting try. (But, I'm not a design expert, so maybe it would look too busy). Thank you so much.

#13 The font is better, but I think I'm still thinking more traditional. I'm wondering if a green/blue combo may be better than a red/blue. Again, thank you.

#14 - I like the film clip and book idea...nice! I wonder if one of the colors from the icon could be brought into the words "Travel Homework". It seems like there is a lot of colors going on. Thank you.

Draft #10 is a good one, too. I like the globe idea, but not the font of the letters. The font seems too futuristic, and much of what the blog/website will be about is history, culture etc...of various locations. Thank you!

Thank you all for your designs so far. I like the feel of Draft #3 and #1 the best so far I am not sure about the colors of #3...maybe something a bit more unique. The symbol of #3 could be a bit "softer". I also like #1, but maybe the symbol could be tweaked. Is the right hand part of the H the eraser part of pencil? Maybe that would be cool because of the meaning of the word "homework". I love the green color but wonder if the gray is the best other color. Thanks again everyone!
