University Baptist Church (or UBC)

No

Our church has many young families, we are located near an Air Force Base and a college. We also are in a fairly affluent area with quite a few cultures represented. The main focus of our church is on 1) God's Word, 2) Developing a process for growth in one's faith, 3) reaching out through missions, and 4) becoming a resource for our community.

Since our name is University, we are close to a college, and we want to educate our parishioners education is a possible theme.

Also a major focus is missions/outreach, so that could lend itself to some ideas.

@angelice and @auraavatary I wanted to update you on where things stand. I have taken the top five designs (the ones that have not been eliminated)and emailed the ideas to our church congregation. I am currently receiving votes. I will continue to accept other designs from you two or others, but wanted to let you know where things stand as of now. Thank you for your great artwork!

okay .. I've made a revision of the cross design # 41. Now I try to make variations of color composition. Of course you get all design # 41 or you choose later(revisions versions) .. because basically it's just a different design layout only .. eq

@auraavatary Sorry for so many comments! But I would be curious to see different color combinations as well. I don't have any colors in mind and I'm not against the black and red as it is, but I'd be curious to see how other colors would look if you have the time. Thanks again!

@auraavatary #41 is my favorite. In addition to making the horizontal line of the cross a bit shorter I also would prefer the larger image to just have "baptist church" in the byline instead of having University large and university baptist church underneath as well. I like the ones with the Bible to the left and UBC also. Would we get all of the designs included in #41?

@auraavatary I really like 41. I wonder if the horizontal part of the cross might look better if it were a bit shorter. But other than that I love it.

@auraavatary thank you very much for your submissions! I really like #40, my only concern with that one is how the red and black fade. That looks good for print media but it's hard to use that for something like an embroidered shirt. I also like your other designs. I like using a Bible. I prefer it without the cross and leaf and the circle swoosh though, I prefer it simple. But thanks a lot for your work!

@angelice I like the Bible in the design of #27, but not the sunset behind it. I also like the simplicity and quality of #28 but am not sure how the design incorporates any of our themes. Continued thanks for your work though, your designs are bold and crisp, I like that.

@humtum Thank you for your submission. I like the simplicity of your design although I'm not sure what the triangles represent, but thank you for your participation.

@khaleefa Thank you for your submission. I'm not sure what the four leaf clover design is about, but I appreciate you submitting a design. Please try to stick to one of the themes we're looking for: 1)training/educating people in the Bible, 2)reaching out to the world. Thank you!

@rockin67 Thank you for your submission, and thank you for trying to design something with a Bible and a globe - I like that concept. I don't necessarily want people with diplomas and graduation caps, but I do see how that goes with our desire to educate people. Thank you for participating.

@angelice I like the style of 26, but I don't know what the circle around the "i" is. Is it simply stylish or does is it symbolic? I also like the idea of 25, trying to work in reaching out to the world, but I don't think I like the little people on it. Thank you for your work though, you have great work!

@angelice If you do submit anymore with a cross shape like #1 or #13 I would prefer the horizontal line to be higher so it looks more like cross than an addition symbol (plus sign). But I really like the styles of your submissions! Do you have any ideas for how to incorporate the theme of our church being a place where people learn (since our name is University) OR the theme of reaching out to the world?

@tonynabih Thank you so much for all of your submissions! However, I'm not sure that we're on the same page. I'm not sure I understand the symbolism of #'s 21-23. I'm not too worried about the color scheme at this point, just trying to find a good design. I also prefer single lines for the wording and solid, crisp, clear pictures as opposed to the ones that are kind of jagged. Thank you again though for your help.

@tonynabih and @angelice thank you so much for your submissions! @tonynabih I am looking for something more simple, something that could even be embroidered on a shirt. @angelice I like the simplicity of your designs - I'm curious if either of you could attempt to play off of the "university" name?
