Creative Brief

Alevra Health, Premium Longevity Medicine Brand Identity

ALEVRA HEALTH

No

The identity should feel:
Medically credible, premium, modern, sophisticated, precise, confident, human, optimistic and timeless.
Premium should not mean flashy or luxurious for its own sake.
It should feel clinical without looking like a hospital and sophisticated without looking like a med spa.
The identity should be appropriate for a physician-led medical organization that could eventually grow to multiple locations.

not sure

Our current logo uses a dimensional blue and teal ribbon-style A. It has served as a useful starting point, but we now believe it is too complicated.
We want something cleaner, more sophisticated, more contemporary and more enduring.
We are particularly interested in a distinctive interpretation of the letter A, but we do not want designers simply copying the reference concepts we provide.
The reference images are intended to communicate our thinking and aesthetic direction. We are running the contest because we want professional designers to improve upon our ideas and potentially show us solutions we have not considered.
We like the simplicity and architectural quality of clean A forms.
The challenge is that an extremely simple A can become generic or start looking like a roof or upward arrow.
We therefore want designers to explore a subtle proprietary element that makes the symbol recognizably Alevra without making it busy.
One direction we have explored incorporates a restrained flowing element within the A. We like the concept of subtle movement, progression or flow when it is executed cleanly.
We do not want a generic swoosh simply added to an A for decoration.
Negative space, asymmetry and subtle geometric solutions are welcome.
Completely different original solutions are also welcome if a designer believes there is a better way to accomplish the objective.
The words ALEVRA HEALTH are also open for redesign.
By typography, we mean the actual treatment of the company name, including font selection, letter proportions, weight, spacing and the relationship between ALEVRA and HEALTH.
We believe our existing typography can be improved and want designers to explore a clean, sophisticated wordmark that complements the new symbol.
It must remain highly legible, particularly for exterior architectural signage.
Designers may explore both a horizontal configuration:
ALEVRA HEALTH
and a stacked configuration:
ALEVRA
HEALTH
We are not committed to either arrangement at this point.
Designers should not feel constrained by the typography shown in our reference concepts
We are open to color exploration.
Colors we currently find attractive include deep navy, deep teal, charcoal, warm stone, champagne or muted metallic gold, and ivory or off-white.
Physical signage may eventually use metallic finishes such as champagne, bronze or brass.
However, the identity cannot depend upon gradients, metallic effects, shadows or multiple colors to work.
The underlying logo must look excellent in a single color.
Please avoid obvious healthcare, functional medicine and wellness clichés, including:
DNA helices, leaves, trees, flowers, hearts, ECG or heartbeat lines, medical crosses, stethoscopes, human silhouettes, hands, lotus imagery, infinity symbols, literal cells, generic molecules and supplement imagery.
We do not want Alevra to look like a med spa, supplement company, yoga studio, alternative medicine clinic, biotechnology startup or traditional hospital system.
The medical and longevity positioning should come from the sophistication and credibility of the identity rather than inserting obvious medical symbols into the logo.
For serious submissions, please demonstrate:
Primary logo: symbol plus ALEVRA HEALTH
One-color version: black or dark charcoal on white
Reverse version: white on a dark background
Exterior signage application: preferably on light stone, stucco or another sophisticated neutral architectural surface
Navy scrub embroidery: important because overly complicated logos often fail when embroidered
Symbol alone at small size: to demonstrate whether it works as an app icon, social media identity and favicon
We will judge the flat logo first. We do not want elaborate architectural mockups disguising a mediocre underlying design.
