Logo for a Marine Mammal Research Nonprofit

This will represent a marine mammal research (focus on whales and dolphins) nonprofit that is trying to help protect these animals and the environment they live in. It should look professional. Bonus points for incorporating an actual marine mammal in the design. Must be unique from what is out there already. Logo ideally will, if put on future appeal, look gender neutral. Font ideally would be professional as well but approachable.

Logo color would be in the blue range, but I do not want to see royal blue/navy blue, let it be something more unique than that (can still be darker blues though). For example blues that lean into a teal but not as teal as normal teal. I love green as well but for the most part blues would be great as the main color. Want this to really represent ocean themes. Can use a variety of blues in it. Don't use manatees, or seals in this as they are not studied right now. Think more of cetaceans. There are a lot of whale tail logos so make sure this doesn't look like other logos in the marine mammal field. try to be more unique than that. Initials for the nonprofit are NCMMRI. These initials with a more simple design next to it would be great too as it can be used on smaller scaled items. Looking additionally for one that can have the detail along with having a more simple design that can be something that can be full white or back when advertising.
