Logo for AFRISOS - Mentorship Programs for Filmmakers and Photographers

AFRISOS

(AFRISOS is the acronym for African School of Storytelling)

Yes

The logo is for AFRISOS (African School of Storytelling). It is an NGO that provides life-changing mentorship programs to aspiring photographers and filmmakers in Africa free of charge. The mentorship happens in-person over 15 days while traveling around Africa and learning on the field (not online or through zoom).

It would be desirable if the the logo can represent:

-"HANDS-ON" approach to education. When the photographers and filmmakers join our storytelling program, they learn By Doing.. They learn from Experience. Not from a book or from a thick course or lecture. It is hands-on experiential education. Your classroom is the Wild!

-"PERSONAL GROWTH" When a photographer or filmmaker joins our mentorship programs, they are growing - on a personal development level as well as on the career level. They get out of their comfort zone, go in the field, and see the world in a different way. Growth of their PERSPECTIVE.

What people should feel when they see the logo:
-INSPIRED TO GET OUT OF THE COMFORT ZONE

Education

    Hi designers..

Most of the logos are lacking an African feeling to them.
Please look at these ancient Afrikan symbols called ADINKRA symbols for inspiration on your design style..

a handrawn abstract feeling is what we are going for

All logos should somehow incorporate this symbol..

but please make it in an abstract and unique way.. not as a literal drawing of it.

Hi designers, I would really like it if you could incorporate the logo trends from the following article:
    https://www.logolounge.com/articles/2021-logo-trend-report

    In Particular
    Trend number 2 Off Jog
    Trend number 5 Trans Flip
    Trend number 12 Swingers

    Thanks and good luck!

Hi, Just a note here for designers to not use obvious photography/filmmaking objects like a camera or an eye.
We would like the logo to be more abstract to represent the concepts "hands-on/experiential", "growth", "storytelling", "adventure"
