Logo for hotel chef conference

Setting the hotel chef up for success

This is the overarching brand identity for a first-of-its kind b2b industry conference for hotel chefs. The conference will be a gathering of chefs from all different hotel chains to learn about menu trends, network, get new food/product information, troubleshoot issues with their peers and learn how to be their best at their jobs. The logo needs to simply convey some type of food and beverage message as well as clearly show "hotel" as the target. I have uploaded logos that are similar to what I am trying to do but I find these options flat and juvenile and want something a bit more upscale and timeless. I want only 2-3 colors max and more masculine fonts (vs the bubbly fonts/script here). The name is taken from the chef term Mise en Place which is everything a chef does to get prepared to cook. This conference Mise will be everything the chef needs to be successful.

I will upload clip art versions of logos I found and "liked" but did not love. Looking for more sophistication and that we spent some investment in this important brand identity. From here we will develop a whole website. Don't really want chef toque iconography--it's been done. Looking for something clever to convey "hotel chef" "this conference is for me". Would like 2 colors max but can definitely look at 3 colors if necessary to have desired effect.
