Describe who/what this design is about

Devlan Group, Inc. is a start-up residential development company with the goal of developing quality communities for people to live in while utilizing technology and collaboration tools to track progress and provide information to its investors/clients in a real time. By committing to this model we aim to provide a working environment that is more entrepreneurial and flexible than the traditional "old school" work in the office all day model. While we still believe nothing can replace all face-to-face meeting in our industry there is no longer the need for all employees to work under the same roof.

We would like to create a brand for Devlan Group that reflects this modern thinking while still connecting back to the core of our business which is developing land, thus the Devlan name ("Dev"elop "Lan"d).

The Devlan Group logo should attempt to capture what a residential development consists of (homes, water, landscape, roads) but maybe with a flair that's all its own and possibly more abstract. We need a strong font and a stand alone element that can be used solo (i.e. baseball cap) or in conjunction with the brand name text ( i.e. for use on business card, letterhead, t-shirts, car magnets, etc.).

One more thing, when we start a new project we will create a new brand and logo for the project and I was wondering if the Devlan Logo could have an element that is subtle that could serve as a conncetion to every project in the future. (not a requirement but possibly a nice to have).

I appreciate all the options. Just a thought, is there a way to be a more subtle with the houses. I don't sell houses I just develop the land for houses to be built on. Thanks

However, peaks that are in the form of rooftops are OK but would like to see something that gives it a modern, maybe even slightly contemporary look as well.

Designers, please do not use mountains or peaks. The area that I live and work in has no mountains and therefore it really doesn't fit. If possible, I would like someone to view my attachments and play with the this concept: The thought process is that in a community there are houses(top), landscaping and grass( green line), roadways(thicker grey line), and then water either in the form of lakes and or water for the home (blue line). Thanks
