Modern Logo for Old Plumbing Company

We are a plumbing, gas, and sewer repair/maintenance company.
Looking for a logo that is Modern, Clean, Fluid, and DIFFERENT from other plumbing companies because we are indeed different from other companies.
What makes us different? We are an environmentally friendly plumbing company. We are a woman-, minority- and veteran-owned business.
We have been around since 1949 but "re-booted" in 2016, with a desire to talk about what makes us different from others. Want a logo that will include "Since 1949" to remind people we are an established company.
We are growing and will soon be including Heating & Cooling as well.
I want a logo that will ***POP*** when its blown up and put on the side of truck. The logo can say JED MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS" or just "JED". We usually go by JED in conversations.

Open but please stay away from Red, White and Blue. We are in the Washington DC area and there is an overabundance of people using that patriot color combo for all kinds of things. Even though we are woman-owned, please no pink.
