The Big Ten Conference is the oldest college athletic conference in the US. Founded in 1896, it has traditionally consisted of 10 colleges from the Midwestern United States. These colleges compete in a variety of sports, including basketball, football, golf, and tennis, among others. They also collaborate academically, sharing libraries, research, and professional development.
In 1994, an eleventh team was added, and in 2010, the Big Ten just announced the addition a twelfth team to the conference.

The Big Ten just unveiled a new logo, and it isn’t getting much applause. Help us design a new logo for the fun of it. The Big Ten Conference is not sponsoring this contest, and will not be using the winning logo, but you will get a $500 prize and some name recognition if you win.
