Central Element:
Start with shield as the primary shape. use of of a simple spear tip inside, or place a crosshair (representative of a gun sight) in the middle. The intersection of the crosshair could be the spear tipper sword (shaped like a crucifix) pointing downwards, cleverly merging both concepts. This ensures that the "tip of the spear" theme isn't lost.

Use a shield as the primary shape, representing protection and defense. Within the shield, place an abstracted spear tip at the top center, pointing downwards. This symbolizes the "tip of the spear" concept and also mirrors the descending dove often used to represent the Holy Spirit.
