Good Deed Seed

Track your good deed online and watch it lead to five more.

Yes

Good Deed Seed was created to make people truly aware of how one act of kindness can radiate outward and positively impact the world at large.

PATENT PENDING: Good Deed Seed is a kit that can be purchased online or through a retail vendor. This kit contains 6 recycled-silicone wristbands in an earth-friendly pouch that’s stamped with the Good Deed Seed logo. Each wristband contains the website address (gooddeedseed.com) and an ID number.

The buyer opens the pouch, removes 1 wristband, and logs onto the Good Deed Seed website to register. They enter their name, email address, city and state of residence, and wristband ID number.

The buyer then performs an act of kindness for someone (ie: shoveling a neighbor’s walkway after a snowstorm). Once the act of kindness is done, the buyer keeps a wristband for him/herself and passes the remaining 5 wristbands in a pouch to the neighbor. The buyer then becomes Branch #1.

Branch #1 asks the neighbor to continue this “tree of kindness” by logging online, sharing their
experience, and performing an act of kindness for someone else within one week.

The neighbor removes 1 wristband from the pouch, logs onto the Good Deed Seed website, and enters the ID number from the wristband. NOTE: All 6 wristbands have the same ID number because they are all part of the same tree. The neighbor registers with their name, email address, and city and state of residence. They complete a brief questionnaire about the act of kindness that was done for them (sort of an online “thank you” to Branch #1). After completing the on-line registration, the neighbor performs an act of kindness for someone else (ie: bringing homemade soup to a sick co-worker). Once the act of kindness is done, the neighbor keeps a wristband for him/herself and passes the remaining 4 wristbands in a pouch to the co-worker. The neighbor then becomes Branch #2.

Branch #2 asks the co-worker to continue the tree of kindness by logging online, sharing their experience, and performing an act of kindness for someone else within one week.

The co-worker removes a wristband from the pouch, logs onto the Good Deed Seed website, and enters the ID number from the wristband. They register with their name, email address, and city and state of residence. They complete a brief questionnaire about the act of kindness that was done for them. After completing the online registration, the co-worker performs an act of kindness for someone else (ie: offering to walk the dog of a friend who's running late at work). Once the act of kindness is done, the co-worker keeps a wristband for him/herself and passes the remaining 3 wristbands in a pouch to the friend. The co-worker is henceforth referred to as Branch #3.

The tree continues in this fashion until the very last branch is formed, totaling the number of wristbands purchased by the buyer (5, 10, 20, or more). Each “branch” can view their tree online whenever they wish to see how tall it has grown. They can see exactly how many lives were positively impacted and in what way. More importantly, they can see how their actions created a domino effect of kindness. They can read others’ stories, share their own, enter contests, chat in chatrooms, and even have texts sent to their phone when a new branch is added to their tree.

Each branch has the option of purchasing a new kit online to start their own tree, or they can opt to continue the original tree by ordering 5, 10, 20 wristbands or more. They also have the option of ordering replacement wristbands should they lose, misplace, or destroy them so that the tree can stay alive.

In conclusion, we believe that most people truly want to do something good, though we rarely get to witness the far reaching effects of our efforts. Our hope is that this product will change all that and connect people in a way that will make a real difference in the world. By giving people the gift of knowing that their actions mattered—that they actually made a difference—we will inevitably inspire more acts of kindness.

earth colors: definitely leaf green and white, maybe sky blue, beige/brown

not sure

Here's what we currently have in mind: a tree made up entirely of arms and hands that are branching off from one another. The main trunk of the tree is the first arm/wrist/hand, and it's wearing a green wristband to represent our product. This image could be contained within a drop of water, signifying sustenance for the tree. Colors of the tree: white, shades of white/gray, green, white outlined in green, beige/brown. IF YOU HAVE AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CONCEPT IN MIND, TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS AND GO WITH IT! Please know we are totally open to other creative ideas.

Also, the name Good Deed Seed needs to be included in the image.

We really appreciate your talent and hard work! We'll make ourselves available to give feedback on a regular basis.

#2 Could u move the halo up a little and add a few green sprouts (like blades of grass to look like hair) to the top of the seed? Can you also add .com in green in a more modern font. The sketch of the winged seed and the font you've chosen for Good Deed Seed is perfect, so please don't change anything there.

Hi, designers. Thank you for all your time and hard work. Please know that we feel genuinely grateful that you've taken the time to submit your work here. We've decided to experiment with something different. Can you submit designs of a funny looking seed? Like a sketch you might find in the comics section of a newspaper. Have fun with it, and please don't be afraid to look silly. Thanks again, everyone! :)

Hello, everyone. Thanks to each of you for submitting your designs. The talent we've seen so far is impressive. Wanted to give all of you some feedback for further guidance on this project. Here's what we like so far: #10, #4, #3, love the font choice in #7, and #2 surprised us by thinking outside the box and submitting a design that we think is quite funny and might actually work. A new direction to consider here... a comic strip-style seed... it definitely has possibilities! Also, let's replace gooddeedseed with gooddeedseed.com and see how that works. Feel free to play, be creative, and have some fun with this! Thanks again, everyone.

NOTE TO ALL DESIGNERS: There was an error made on the design requirements. We checked the box marked "no" when it asked if we wanted to include the tagline in the design/logo. For some reason, it is now marked "yes." This is a mistake. Please do not include the tagline in your design. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
