South Coast Baking is a wholesale sweet goods bakery manufacturer (primarily frozen cookie and brownie dough). Logo should be sophisticated expressing a major food corporation, nothing cartoonish. It is not necessary to have anything bakery related in the logo but it's acceptable if it's incorporated in a sophisticated way. I like the vintage look/feel of the Lodge at Torrey Pines logo (with a different font) which shows the coast but I do not know if it looks professional enough for a food company.

No cheesy bakery motifs, if it can be done elegantly that's acceptable but otherwise no. If a illustrative logo doesn't work it can simply be a logo type without additional illustration.
