Creative Brief

Cigar Pipe

Banner and Logo

We need an 8x8 banner for a trade show in July. You'r task (should you choose to accept it) is to design a logo and incorporate it into the banner design. 1. The logo: Must use the words "Cigar Pipe" and the cigar picture supplied from the packaging files. The preferred font and color is provided as well, but feel free to change it to suite your design. 2. The Banner: Will be 8x8 and needs to have the following specifications: - It must be a split scene, the top must be incorperate the picture of the cigar and have the only text on the entire banner in large letters "Cigar Pipe". The bottom half should "set the scene" think cigar lounge. This will be in a small booth for multiple trade shows. We will extend your interpretation of "cigar lounge" into the rest of our booth, to complete the scene. Technical Specifications : File Types: PDF, PSD, TIF, EPS, AI, JPG Resolution: 150dpi (300dpi 1/2 sign size)

Novelties

This is for a trade show in the "Head Shop" industry, CHAMPS Trade Show. We are a small business just starting out, we are trying to create a scene to draw buyers in and order our cigar pipes.

1. We need to be able to use the logo on other materials, business cards and the website as well as the banner, so it must be provided in multiple file types and sizes. 2. The banner will be printed through esign.com. high resolution vynal banner. Provide the required resolution of: 150dpi (300dpi 1/2 sign size).

We do not own the pictures I have uploaded for example. Those are examples, we really do not want you to use the sample pictures as the banner. We want to give you an idea of what we are looking for. Those are examples of the room we are trying to create. The banner is ONE WALL of that room. So that is why we keep telling you to eliminate a chair, take out the table, rotate the wall to the front. We we want a banner that looks like a wall in a cigar lounge. The banner will have a nice picture of a fireplace on it and a liqueur cabinet next to it. That is all that is on the bottom part of the banner, above that is our cigar pipe logo and a picture of the pipe, provided from packaging and website. We do not want the packaging on the banner. Thank you.

I have uploaded a few Pics of different lounge scenes with specifically details on what we would like to see on the bottom part of the banner. This should help in explaining on what we mean by "Create a Scene".

These are better. However, we are looking to create the scene.

    For clarification on size conversion 8'x6' = 243.84 cm high X 182.88 cm wide 12 inches in 1 foot 12x8= 96 inches 2.54cm per 1 inch 96 inches x 2.54cm = 243.84 cm

You can take the cigar image out of this AI file originally for packaging design. Just the image of the smoking cigar is all that would be needed for the packaging file provided (Sessions_Countertop_Packaging_46148.pdf)

Please Review the Cigar Pipe Banner and Logo PDF document recently uploaded for a better understanding of what the client is looking for. The recently uploaded PDF breaks down the basic design idea.

The picture of our box packaging is for inspiration only. We don't want to see our box in the logo or on the banner. The font for the text "cigar pipe" we like, so I included it with the supporting documentation and the picture and design of the cigar on the packaging including the smoke is what we like, nothing else should make it to the logo or the banner. Thanks

First Design Comments: That is a good start for the logo. The banner needs to create a scene, Think about it as you are in our booth at the trade show. This banner is 8 feet high and 8 feet across. 2-3 feet from the top would be something like the logo you have here (minus the picture of the box packaging) the bottom 5-6 feet should be a scene like a fireplace or a bar. We will arrange chars, bookshelves, or bar-stools in accordance to make the rest of the trade-show both to compliment this giant banner design that you create. Good start, think bigger...

New logo, the current packaging has "Sessions" as the logo and "Cigar Pipe" as a tag line. We are eliminating "Sessions" and a tag line all together, leaving "Cigar Pipe" as the only text. The cigar design itself with the lit end and the smoke is something we do like and would like to see it in the design, but that is up to you. You may choose to create your own version of the cigar, with your own take. Please read the brief for more details and required technical specifications.

UPDATE: Working with mycroburst to upload the packaging design file of 21MB. This file is the AI file for the ad that is already up. The ad photo has the picture of the burning cigar pipe with smoke that we like and would favor in the banner/logo design, as well as the "CIGAR PIPE" text in the font and color we like. Those are really the only two elements we would like to see on the banner. Visit the website: www.SessionsSpot.com Thank You for your help, And may the odds be ever in your favor!
