Classy logo for architecture firm

Not too terribly concerned about color as this is something easily changed but here are some text on background color combinations that have caught my eye: Silver/chrome on black, silver on white, gold on dark blue, black on grey, white on blueprint blue, tan on dark brown and of course black and white.

I would like a logo made from my initials A L. The logo itself should be interesting enough to stand on its own as it might be used for branding purposes. My name should be in a font larger than the word architect. No architectural imagery and no cursive or ultra-modern fonts.
