Hi. I run the Men’s Club for a Church called St. Joseph in Wilmette, Illinois. Our Men’s Club runs the annual Block Party, which features an outdoor Mass, Kids Games, Gourmet Food Trucks and Beverages of All Sorts. I ran a contest through Logo Design Guru last year and liked the winning design. In fact, I’d like to use the “bones” of that design again this year, especially the Church Logo.
[Q: how can I direct designers to last year's winning design?]
This year, we are featuring Live Music again and we want to emphasize that, so we’re marketing the event as “Rock the Block” to illustrate the focus on Music. I would suggest the designer thinks about incorporating a musical instrument into some of the wording – like maybe a guitar for an “O” or something like that to creatively link Music to the Wording on the Logo.
Here are the main details that need to be woven into this year’s design:
- Date is June 28, 2014
- Time: 5 pm – 11 pm
- Items to Highlight – Kids Activities, Face Painting, Food Trucks, Libations, Big CA$H Raffle
- Keep Rock House logo like before. But change the wording next to Rock House logo to read “Also featuring live music from St. Joe’s Parishioners as well as Musical Acts from The Rock House
- Keep the bottom stuff – All are Welcome, etc.
So, basically, update the logo with the stuff I have above and try to visually weave in the concept of Live Music into the wording of the logo.
