Our ensemble is a competitive indoor marching percussion ensemble with members between the ages of 14-22. We compete in the WGI national circuit (wgi.org) and every year we are recruiting kids in the Tampa, Florida area to be members. We want a logo that is Stylized, modern, very clean. Something that would be easy to embroider onto a polo or make decals. Something memorable and recognizable from a distance.

Blue for sure - we like black as well, but blue is the only "requirement" per se. We we don't want it to be too dark however. The logo will go on our website, which has a black background, and our apparel (t-shirts, polos, member jackets, etc) so we don't want it too dark to where it gets lost in the black material/background.

I really suggest viewing the websites of some similar groups that are in the same competitive circuit as we are - they are extremely successful and their logos are brands that are recognized in our activity. I don't want a logo like theirs -- I just think seeing it might help the designers put our organization and goals in context.
