The New England Polysomnographic Society is a newly formed professional society for Sleep Medicine Technicians and Technologists that is a regional society of the Association of Polysomnographic Technologists (APT). Our purpose and goals for which the society is organized are as follows:


Standards of Practice
To develop standards of professional competence within the area of Polysomnographic Technology.

Patient Care and Safety
To help Technologists deliver the finest possible patient care and safety, and to produce the highest quality of Polysomnographic data.

Communication
To provide a means of communication among Technologists and others.

Professional Support
To support and advance the professional identity of the Polysomnographic Technologist and Sleep Professional in health care. To represent Polysomnographic professionals in legislative matters.

Procedural Standardization
To standardize Polysomnographic procedures in order to facilitate an educational curriculum for the field.

Financial Management
To accumulate funds for the various purposes and fiscal needs of the Society.

Education
To provide educational opportunities for Polysomnographic Technologists as well as education to the general public regarding sleep awareness.
