The concept of the restaurant is a limited menu of 20 very easy to recognize italian dishes presented on a chalkboard when the server approaches the table. Very simple easy to recognize italian food done very well, our pastas and bread are going to be fresh made. The decor will be simple, comfortable, semi-rustic, lots of wood table tops and other furniture with chalkboards at key locations. Hanging on the walls there will be chalkboards that are drawn by customers.

The name Lavagna has two different meanings for our restaurant. 1. It is a place in Northern Italy that was known for their slate production, now it is a tourist destination. 2. The name translates into "Blackboard" in Italian which is befitting of the restaurant.
