We are a private equity/investment firm that purchases commercial real estate property and operating businesses. The logo will be used on marketing material, a website, business cards, etc. We are having a web developer use one of these templates:

Blue, gray, white, black. Generally want to err on the side of being conservative but not at the risk of being dull.

Something with a rock or mountain, maybe some water like an actual bay. Something that imparts solidarity. The term "Stonebay" comes from a training ground where some of the partners lived in the military but we don't want to be necessarily associated with military. A sharper and clean but solid look is preferred.
