Bistro Box is a start-up business currently in the concept phase. We offer freshly prepared meals to employees of medium to large workplaces. We do this through a unique delivery system or “box”, which is an automated, refrigerated vending unit located in the workplace service lobby. Employees can retrieve their orders, at their convenience, before they head for home.

For most working adults, the home dinner meal occasion presents a challenge. Typically, it requires advance planning, grocery shopping, or cooking. The alternative is to stop at a take-out restaurant or grocery store on the way home from work. Regardless, this is often considered to be a daily inconvenience and an obstacle to spending time with the family.

This creates an opportunity for a unique premise-based food offering for the home dinner meal occasion, which is comprised of:

1. A smart “box” at the workplace where food is delivered
2. An exciting, rotational menu using fresh, local foods
3. A focused website for self-service ordering and menu information
4. Use of local commissaries, geographically centered to each service area
5. Delivery fleet to deliver meals to the boxes
6. A refrigerated, high-quality meal that is may be ready-to-eat (fully cooked meals to be reheated) or ready-to-cook (prepared ingredients made easy to cook)
