Describe who/what this design is about

We want your help in creating a logo for the blog.
Here is what we are looking for:
1. Colors should blend well with the website LogoDesignGuru.com (contrast or compliment).
2. The font should be modern and sleek. We want a look that stands out in this era of minimalism.
3. We are a design based site so we want out of the box creativity.
4. The colors should stay away from green (we just don’t like green).
5. The logo can take any form: graphical, logotype, illustrative.
6. The bottom line is we will take the readers opinion but will narrow the competition down to five entries as they come in.
7. Use the tagline, use the name and have fun!

Maybe try something more abstract? I have seen some logos with paint splatters which look creative but too arty...am still hoping to get something more than ordinary...

I do not like the light bulb idea, the concept of including window like designs nor a brain in the logo. That's too in your face. I did like the use of the letters 'TD' creatively to create a logo. Some designers created a sleek modern look that looked great. A few changes would make them even better. Using too many colors especially the primary colors is a no go, especially since it makes the logo look like the windows logo. Two color combos look good the colors orange, blue, black, grey plus any other combo would work.
