The Fischer Engineering logo is for a start up structural engineering consulting company. It will appear on letterhead, construction documents, plans title blocks, business cards. A similar company's website: http://www.ashleyvance.com/ I really like their style.

The net shape must fit conveniently in rectangle with an aspect ratio of between 1:1 (square) and 2:1 (width to height). It doesn't have to be rectangular, but elements can't protrude too far. Here is a recent project: http://orders.logodesignguru.com/contests/tekneek-architecture I liked #8 the most. Other stuff in hkdesign's portfolio also looked good.
