Clean/Simple

We think the logo might need to use strong and/or dark colours to fit in with our new website, but we'll leave that to the designer. The logo will usually appear on a white or very light background. We also need: • a single colour (black) version • a reverse version for black backgrounds

Dear designers After much discussion, we have chosen #161 for a new logo. The sad thing was having to say ‘no’ to all the great ideas that you all came up with. We are very grateful for your hard work and sincerely hope that you will be successful on other design projects. Our finalists certainly deserved to be: all the ideas and designs were great! Thank you sincerely from all of us and best wishes for the future. Ron

We'd just like to thank all the designers who made a contribution to the competition. We had a fantastic range of options and all of the 'finalists' have been really great making adjustments for us. Again, thank you ... now we have to decide!

Thank you all so much for the work you've done. You have really helped us and we are on the way to a great logo. To try and get the options to a maneageable number we've eliminated lots of entries but would just again like to thank all you hardworking designers who put effort into making our business look good. It's really appreciated and we wish you well for all your future designs. We've sent further comments to our 4 star choices and hope to hear from you before the competition closes in a day and a half. Again, thanks! Ron

Thanks everybody for your efforts, it's a tough job sorting it out from all this creativity. We've copied them all to our website (url in the brief) to see how they look and sent private messages to the designers of our favourites. Generally what we like is: - clear simple type that creates strong san serif with script, both using fonts and treatments you wouldn't see elsewhere - mice / chords / keys - strong colours. That also means we've given a low rank to ones for the reasons above and / or seem too busy for us. Pretty much (I hope) what we said in the brief! Again, thanks for all your efforts and we're looking at them all again over the weekend so check back (your) Monday.

Thanks again to each designer for the effort you’ve put in. We’ve eliminated a few that wouldn’t be appropriate with any revisions. 2 stars have definite possibilities. We like: • mouse / key / screen etc themes (and that a few make pencils / pens look good) • the use of solid / calligraphic type for ‘Get it’ and ‘Write!’ • the detachable byline (most times we won’t use it so we’re looking at the designs with and without it) 1 star means one or more of (following from the brief): • we don’t understand the abstract symbol • the typography could be more creative • the logo uses keys to spell out words (which we want to keep for the front page animation) • there’s too much happening • it doesn’t communicate business writing (this being our market). Some specific comments: • #1 … can we see it with the ‘Write’ stronger? • #24 … like the look, not quite sure what the background to the ‘it’ is though • #9 … image is really creative, would like to see it with a mix of solid type and hand lettering. We’re really impressed with the creativity of some of these and all your efforts. Thanks again for your work.

Thanks sincerely for all the great ideas. Please ignore the stars for the time being ... we're still getting to know how this site works. We'll be providing general comments tomorrow, stars, and more detailed feedback on some designs. Again, thanks for all your efforts!
