Vision Statement:
The Association of Student Loan Repayment Counselors (ASCLRC) will establish industry best practices for providers of student loan consolidation, rehabilitation, forgiveness, and related repayment services.

Mission:
The ASLRC will bring together the providers of student loan repayment services for the following common goals:
Establish best practices for the industry, and identify troublesome practices to be avoided.
Explore, and if warranted establish, accreditation and certification programs for agencies, firms, and individuals providing assistance to consumers struggling with student loan debt.
Represent the interests of student loan counselor before state and federal governments.
Support the implementation of Income-based repayment programs for private loans that match those available for federal loans.
Serve as a no-cost referral mechanism between bankruptcy attorneys, credit counseling agencies, and other debt relief providers with student loan repayment counselors.

Membership:
The ASLRC will have two classes of members:
General membership is open to any agency, firm, or individual that provides student loan repayment counseling in accordance with the standards established by the association.

Affiliate membership is open to any agency, firm, or individual that provides goods or services to general members, or who may want to be involved in the association’s referral network.
