Creative Brief

Photography company with new name needs new logo

Sterling Exposures Photography

No

I currently do portrait and wedding photography, but I would like start working with small business owners to do commercial photography, so I need the logo to appeal to business owners as well as moms. My target market is mostly female so I want it to be on the feminine side, but I still want it to be professional and not too feminine (no hearts and flowers). I want it to read classy, professional, sophisticated, and luxury.

I want my branding to be black, white, grey, and silver, and I think I want the logo to be silver (see examples).

not sure

You can see my current logo at www.likensphoto.com. I really like a contoured 3d look with a drop shadow, and I like the idea of making it look like it is 3d silver (see the attached examples). I want something that will also read okay if I need to have it printed in single color (black, white, or grey) on say a t-shirt. The main use for the logo will be on the computer for my website and watermarking my images on Facebook etc., but I want to be able to use it for business cards, postcards, t-shirts, and other marketing materials down the road.

I tend to lean towards having a script font for "Sterling Exposures" and a a serif or sans serif style font for "Photography." I would like an element that can be pulled out and used separately on other marketing materials such as a symbol, abstract, or initial, but I am not sure which I would want. I tend to lean towards initials because I see a lot of photography logos using a camera or the aperture rings in a lens as their symbol, so I feel that is overdone.

I am open to ideas. Please show me what you've got!

Update*** apparently my document didn't save properly and I lost half of what I had in it. At any rate, the ones that are in the document are from myfonts.com. Freedom Writer BF isn't pictured, but it is my favorite.

Hi Everyone! I am realizing that I haven't given very good direction as far as fonts that I like so I have spent some time going through fonts to give everyone an idea of what I am drawn to. Please see the attached word document under the project brief. The ones with a line of ****** are some of my more preferred ones. Right now I am head over heals in love with Freedom Writer BF!!!

Hello Everyone, each of you has submitted at least one design with the same font. As I have mentioned in my private messages to each of you I would like to stay away from it. Could one of you let me know the name of the font? I would like to notate the name so that future artists know I would like to avoid it. Thanks!
