We are a consulting and investment firm focused on underperforming and distressed companies. We took on our name, Prairie Street Capital, as were inspired by the early pioneers who passed through the prairies of America, some going on to settle cities in the west and others finding home on the prairie. We see ourselves as embodying the spirit of our early pioneers and along with modern day management and financial skills and resources.
One banker described as the guys who will do the “weird deal” or jump into situations that most folks are too afraid to touch. We are picky and select only a few clients or companies we buy. But due to this selectiveness there is a healthy alignment of mindsets with those we advise or companies that we invest in. This approach, we believe, is a major contributor to our stellar record over the past 16 years.
