The Scottish Exiles is a rugby union development idea begun by the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) for junior rugby union players from Under 14 years age group to Under 20 years age group (so now seven year groups).
It is for those scots outside Scotland (ie in England and Wales, and perhaps in time elsewhere such as Ireland, France, North America, etc) of high ability in playing rugby. It is intended to develop elite squads for each age group to in time make players availailable to the Scotland National Rugby Union teams.
The logo and text will be on the playing shirts, overtops, kit bags, etc.
There has been suggested a logo of a stag's head with antlers looking forwards with "Scottish Exiles" underneath. The logos of the Scotland team can be seen on the Scottish Rugby Union Website. Other scottish rugby club websites (such as London Scottish) have their rugby club logos.
There is a major sportswear and kit supplier lined up to provide the shirts and equipment on which the logo and text will be put.
It is hoped to get this moving and on the kit by September 2011.
