Prefer a strong unique color as a base (i.e. UPS, Coca Cola) and one or two bright accent colors.

The main competitor is www.gia.edu, but that company does not sell gems like us. www.jtv.com sells to consumers and is regarded as the "walmart" of the industry. We would like to be high-class, but trendy. We do not want anything that looks like a corporate seal, because the logo will later be used in a seal. Our web site will be www.usgid.com, so every effort to follow that naming convention would be a plus.
