Red (darker reds such as brick red, crimson, etc. are prefered) and black. If the designer wishes to incorporate a third color, maybe gray?

I really like the logo at: www.safered.com. For mine, maybe use the sphere outlined in red and hollow (white) inside except for a red rock or rock formation? For the rock outline, maybe consider some ideas from www.redrocksonline.com or a single castle-type rock - see the City of Golden, Colorado logo.
An alternative might be doing something with the "R"s in Red Rock. For example, maybe making the RR into a rock formation? I would probably be more open to the tagline being part of the logo in this one.
