What happened the last time you felt bored designing?

It starts off like this; you feel the need to escape your desk to avoid staring at your blank screen, so you go out. The next step includes a little panic building in the back of your mind – the deadline is tomorrow! You don’t have time to be outside and messing around. Then you start asking yourself a maelstrom of rhetorical questions that won’t be answered like what are you going to do now, does this design look similar to something else, and what can you do with such a short amount of time left?

Unfortunately, at the rate you are going, the design process is far from your mind.

Design block is terrifying

designer-artworks-kingdomYou have no inspiration or muse to guide your pen; the pressure is beating you down and its sucks any creative atmosphere away from you. It’s one the worst difficulties designers can have, and designer Artworks Kingdom will do everything in his power to avoid that happening to him.

Designer Artworks Kingdom works hard to design well. He supports his family with his work, and that only adds to his pressure. He can’t afford to let a design block stop him or hold him back. There are mouths to feed.

There is a way to stop a design block, and he has a neat tip to share. When he feels a design block beginning to build, he goes to the least likely place for design inspiration; the local supermarket. There are thousands of designs sitting on neat shelves, sorted by type, and ready for him to admire. It isn’t a love of food stuffs that has him travel there during this dreaded time (although, who could blame him if he does?). The supermarket has a wide variety of designs and product labels  gathered together, and by looking through them, it helps him find the inspiration he needs.

And now that you’ve heard this ingenious tip, you’ll have a temporary reprieve for your design blocks!

Break the block by experimenting with colors

This designer has found that when he’s in a real jam, changing the color will provide enough inspiration to keep going to create the unique look he needed.

Don’t be afraid of changing up your color choices. If you need a nice color to start with, Artworks Kingdom recommends black as the go-to color when you are feeling lost.  It’s perfect for designs that need a touch of sophistication or adds a sense of timelessness to the logo or stationery.

Artworks Kingdom’s specialization is stationery and logo design and he won’t try anything else if it doesn’t interest him. It’s where you find his best works, including some of these designs:

Don’t hold yourself back!

Over the years, Artworks Kingdom can’t refute that his largest challenge is himself. If he doesn’t have a challenging project in front of him, the boredom sets in and the design block risk looms over him. He likes to set his own hours, work at his own pace, and let inspiration come to him when he is ready. But he’s willing to work, and doesn’t let his frustrations take away from the quality of the designs. He recommends having a clear guide on what you want to accomplish, and then do it.
