Creative Brief

Greg & Sharon McKee Boat Logo

Sailing Grace

No

We are Greg & Sharon McKee. We are avid sailors, spending almost every weekend on beautiful Lake Ouachita, Arkansas aboard our Catalina 387 sailboat, which we recently named Sailing Grace. We decided on this name because it uses each of our first initials and is a play on God's "Saving Grace". We would like a very simple yet elegant logo design that uses the letters S & G that resembles a sailboat (see example sketches in URL).

Captain Navy (see URL) and Glacier Blue or dark navy blue & a contrasting lighter blue. We're open for suggestions.

2

We'd like to see the logo with and without Sailing Grace (the words) attached to it, as we would like to use the symbol alone as a monogram for clothing. Also, we really like the look and simplicity of the Nautica logo.

Could you use the water you have in draft #84 with the design in draft #77? Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. I have uploaded the drafts after making the changes. The 'G' is dark blue and not black. Thanks.

Regarding draft #43 - very nice, good colors. Like the water. Please keep but we'd like to see a variation. Please make these changes: 1. Match the color of the S with the lightest color in the water stripe 2. Make the S slightly more curved and slightly taller 3. Make the left side of the G slightly straighter and move it a little closer to the S making the sail a little slimmer 4. Make the bottom and right side of the G slightly curved 5. Make the gray shading match the new curved shape of the G 6. Make the overall logo a little taller Is the G dark blue or black?

regarding draft #25 we like the font and colors but the sailboat logo itself needs to incorporate the letters S and G. Thanks.

We like draft #24 & draft #22. On #24 we like the sharper edge of the left side of the G but would like to see the bottom of the G a little flatter like #22 and with a little more of a curve on the right side corner where it turns back to the left.

Regarding draft #18, I really like the finer shape of the sailboat hull made up of the lower half of the letter G. I'd like to see the S that forms the sail become a bit more prominent, and slightly more recognizable as the letter S. If possible finish the rest of the letter G as possibly the spinnaker sail on the front of the boat. I'm also thinking that maybe the representation of the water looks to be flowing the wrong way but not sure if it will look right reversed.

Numbers 6 and 7 are more along the line of what we are looking for. We think there needs to be more of a balance between the S and the G as the G seems to overpower the S. The flat part of the G could reduce a bit in effect making the hull of the sailboat a little trimmer, and look less like a baby carriage. Maybe a little more creativity in the S and G. We do like the representation of water beneath the boat in #7 and the motion it implies. In #1 we like the color of the blue in the center of the banner/water. Thank you for the good start - please keep them coming!

Very nice but not exactly what we're looking for. Please look at attached examples - it's much easier to show you a rough sketch of what we have in mind than to explain. We would like our initials, S & G, to be used in the logo to resemble a sail and a sailboat. Thank you!
