Creative Brief

High tech plastics startup company needs logo!!

Pacific TPU

No

Hello, this is a startup plastics company that sells TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) We want our logo to look like a high technology or engineering type of logo. I would prefer the logo or word mark to have some dimensionality, but a simple, flat and bold logo could also work. The logo must include the words "Pacific TPU". Other words that could.be added include: Inc., Thermoplastic Polyurethane, etc. I would prefer any type of blue for this logo, but any color is okay as long as it is not red. Our company creates a type of plastic that has transparent/glasslike/plastic qualities, so we are hoping that we can incorporate this property in the logo somehow.

These logo ideas are similar to what I may look for. That blue and the 3D effects look very modern. You may also incorporate an abstract "wave" since the company is called Pacific TPU. Very creative wordmarks will generally impress me more than a poorly constructed logo, so keep that in mind too. If you feel the logo mark takes away from the overall design, just play with the typography. Thanks!

Please do not include both TPU and Thermoplastic Polyurethane in the logo. It is redundant. Pick one, thanks.

Update: Corporate currently prefers #29 in its use of circular shapes (beads) that reflect the shape of our plastic resin. I would be interested in seeing your other variations, baburao.

jontsai87@ the logo is unique, but quite easy to make it is basically just a "photoshop default filter" applied to a thick circle outline (then traced in illustrator ect..) ..in that sense there is of cause a possibility that someone else at some point did the same simple set of actions and acquired a somewhat similar result :)

#36 box1508: I really like the logo. I just want to make sure this logo is unique and not used elsewhere. Also, I feel that stating Pacific TPU and Thermoplastic Polyurethane is a bit redundant. However, I believe they both could be incorporated if bottom line said something creative, like Thermoplastics Polyurethane Specialists... This way it is clearly separating the company name (Pacific TPU) with some sort of slogan (or if you can think of a better one). Does this make sense? Thanks #37 Mobius6: I also want to verify this logo is unique and not used elsewhere. I like your word for Pacific on the left, but possibly coupled with a TPU word in a different color and/or font that could make it look bold and dynamic might be better. Also, the logo looks like it has a silvery outline. I would like to see how this looks on black and white backgrounds and if there is the option of altering the logo slightly for each. Thanks!! #29 baburao. I really like the simplicity in this design that makes it very professional. I would like to see a variation where it is just Pacific TPU or Pacific TPU Inc. Possibly also giving it some reflective properties, although I like it the way it looks right now. Flat but 3D. Great job. #30 jtscreative I like the abstract nature of your logo, but I think at this point I may prefer the other ones people have come up with. Maybe if the logo was incorporated into the wordmark somehow, it could be cooler. Thanks for your design!

For each design, it would be nice to see one spelled out as Thermoplastic Polyurethane, and one that just says TPU to see the variety

Although it looks great with "Thermoplastic Polyurethane", our company is still listed as "Pacific TPU" so I would also like to see a version with just the TPU acronym. Thank you all.

x3mart, #16 is the first one to be professional in the way I want it. Thanks for also including the black and white images! I do want to see type and color variations though. I'm not 100% sold on the PTPU symbol, but it does look pretty cool! Good job! I definitely want to see what else you can come up with.

#15 Xbudd, you can't change the name of the company. The company is called Pacific TPU not TPU Pacific. Thanks, hope to see some new ideas!

When I say dimensionality it does not mean I want tons of gradients. If you can make single color logo with shapes that make the symbol appear to have more dimensions, that is what I am looking for.

By the way, our product is plastic resin that comes in the form of small beads/grains. Maybe using some type of effect or pattern with dots or circles could be used. I don't know how, but hope this can help brainstorm ideas. Thanks guys!

Not a problem and TY for the feedback. Will get a more fluid logo up in a bit.

cdgdesign, your logo is a bit ambiguous. I would prefer something more crisp (fluid though, and not rigid like yours). I don't think I want that gradient on the text either. You can tell it's a gradient text option by looking at the text below where the gradient pattern is shortened and it looks awkward. Thanks.

The logo should look bold and simple. Please keep the dimensionality simple(or none at all). I would prefer a stylized wordmark over a poorly constructed symbol. Keep it to as few colors as possible. Just one color could look great too. Thanks.

Yes Shahkuw you are absolutely correct. The Chevron or Apple logo for example, have subtle dimensional effects, but when printed on black and white or as a stamp, it looks perfectly fine as a flat image.

Brainz your #1 may be a little too shiny and too little focus is put on the words. I also do not prefer the use of arrows. It's a start though. Thank you for your early submission, hope you can improve upon your idea.
