Minimalist Logo for Global Payments Company!

PRIDE

21st Century Global Payment Solutions

Yes

Our business is an exciting and innovative start-up that focuses primarily on the processing of electronic payments for small to mid-sized merchant retailers in North America and Europe. PRIDE stands for "Professional Results In Daily Efforts". Our niche in the payments industry is to provide outstanding customer service - which is severely lacking today. Since our main customer is small to mid-sized merchants, we're looking to portray a sense of warmth and security, not a stale, mundane corporate feel. We are revolutionizing the industry with the help of top Fortune500 companies and need to have a simple, but revolutionizing feel to match our business. I cannot over-emphasize the importance of minimalism in this project. We don't want to look too over-the-top or too powerful. We want to look approachable, trusting, and simple.

As already stated, we are looking for warm tones. Please stay away from cold, ice tones. Any warm tone combinations that mesh well together will be accepted. Keep it simple and soothing to the eyes.

not sure

There are a lot of "lion logos" out there today, so trust us when we say that we have done extensive research on what exists and what doesn't. Please do not just copy something from another site - we are paying a large sum for original content. As far as we can tell, there are currently no companies in the payments industry using a lion or lion pride as the logo. In addition, since most logos in the payments industry are corporate and/or mundane looking, it's difficult to suggest any sites to direct you to. The type font needs to have a mix of professionalism and simplicity. Nothing too harsh on the eyes. We are a big fan of the following magazine/website: http://www.monocle.com/sections/design/. I know this may not help too much, but I want you all to understand how we think and what we're looking for. We have picked up most of our "design thinking" from this site, so feel free to take a look at it. Plus, we just like the site anyway and thought you guys might as well. We plan to be tremendously engaged in this process, so feel free to add any additional ideas to the mix, we would love to hear/see your thoughts. Good Luck!

We are currently working to narrow down our "likes" and "dislikes". In order to understand where we are going with our thought process with a little over 24 hrs. remaining, we very much like drafts: #126, #111, #104, and #47. Would love to see variations. :-)

Draft #104: Just like I had draft #126 do, is there anyway you could super-impose a globe map on the blue sphere in the middle? Just want to see what that looks like. Thanks!

Hermes is correct, we have moved away from our original brief and are now looking at some other elements for our logo. I want to first apologize for any confusion or lack of guidance on our part here at pridepaynet. However, as it is with most things of this nature, we had an idea as to what we were originally looking for and once we saw some options, decided to move in a different direction. This post will try to sum up where we are at in our decision making process. First, we believe that a lion and lion pride is too difficult to recreate as "original" and therefore are no longer looking at lion logos. There is one exception to this and that is draft #12. We are still looking at this one as a possibility. Second, we still like and are partial to warm tones and color schemes. Blue is okay as long as it meshes well with the other colors. For example, draft #126 is great because it incorporates the warm orange with a dark, sleek blue. This is okay. Draft #104 is also a good example of the color scheme we are now looking at. The colors here are warm, but not primary. Please stay away from just primary colors. We tend to like logos with some incorporation of warm orange. Third, the font type needs to be creative, slightly edgy, but still professional looking. Case-in-point, we liked the branching out of draft #126 with the futuristic font type. We originally were not planning on going this route, but we like the incorporation here. Too plain a block type is not going to work for us. It doesn't have to be futuristic either, we just like what #126 has done. Fourth, we are looking for logos that will look good standing alone (i.e. for stationary, business cards, ect.) and want something that has depth to it. Something slightly more than 2-D. But nothing crazy, because remember, we're trying to keep this as minimalist as possible. I hope this helps in providing a little better guidance from here. PLEASE, feel free to post any additional questions/comments as I check this frequently. If you have any additional suggestions, feel free to let me know. Look forward to narrowing these downs! Thanks for all your hard work!

PH thanks for all the specific feedback you have been giving, however I feel your inital brief has been lost in the ether and designers are now not sure what you're looking for. Would you mind giving a up to date brief (in the comments, or update the actual brief), so we're all singing from the same hymn sheet, and you get exactly what you are (now) looking for? Thanks

Draft #100: Great work. Would like to also see the blue sphere with a map of some sort, just to compare. I like the lon/lat lines though. Also, I would like to see the design on a black backdrop just to compare as well. Keep up the great work here!

Draft #92: Was looking at this one more and thought that the interlocking "P's" create the symbol of a hurricane - not quite what we want to portray. But again, clean look is good.

Draft #92: I like what is going on here, but can you make the font for "PRIDE" a bit smaller and the font for the sub-text a little bigger? I know I have said to stay away from cold colors, but I like this one because of how "clean and green" it looks.

Draft #90: There was too much going on with the logo. It was a neat idea to make Africa a lion, but the whole concept was a little too big with the map. If were going to touch on a "global reach" theme, I would want it to be just a globe and something smaller. I appreciate your effort and thoughts.

PLEASE! Remember to keep your designs original to avoid copyright issues. We are vigorously cross-checking all of the potential designs for copyright issues. Thanks for those who are remaining original in their work. :-)

Draft #88: This has potential as well, but I would like to see some warmer color tones. Plus, what would it look like making the background a very light toned globe? Would like to see that option as well, thanks.

Draft #85: Love the colors and design here. What would it look like with the blue sphere being a globe of some type? Would like to see that option. FOR EVERYONE - keep in mind, I like seeing the depth perspectives of these logos like in #85 and in #47.

Hate to change horses in mid-stream, but lets focus on moving away from lions and toward incorporating unique and warm symbols (i.e. drafts #47, #52, #85). It looks as if the "lion pride" aspects are too difficult for what we are looking to achieve. Please keep up the good work on the color scheme front, I like the colors in #52 a lot. Plus, I really like the dynamic orange color of #47.

I particularly enjoyed drafts #59 and #62. Don't know why they were withdrawn. :-( But the simplicity and color schemes really went well.

PLEASE NOTE - I like what the designers have done with drafts #47 and #52. Now they are not pertaining to lions or globes, but I them nonetheless. PLEASE branch out and be creative with these logos. They DO NOT have to be lions/globe related for us to consider them, they just have to be sharp, creative, colorful (not too many colors), and original. Thanks for all your hard work everyone, I look forward to narrowing these choices down.

REGARDING FONTS - Everyone: lets also stay away from font types that are too thin like in drafts: #29, #45, #49. These fonts are too thin and would not look good for example on a polo shirt or from a distance. Font types we like so far are ones in drafts: #8, #47, #52. The font type in sagara's logos are about as thin as we might consider and even those are perhaps too thin (i.e. #12, #13, #40, #41). Creative fonts, like in draft #11, are also nice to consider. Please keep these things in mind! Thanks.

ublahableh: okay progress on the new versions. I still like the original Draft #8's font better than the new versions. I also don't like that the new versions are not as centered as the original ones were. See if you can incorporate the lions from Draft #29 (perhaps including a cub if possible), fix the globe (bringing it right side up or on a tilt), and keep the font/text from Draft #8. In addition, see if you can't provide some alternative views; example: lighten up the lions or provide more depth to them and an example of them all-black. Make sure to keep in centered like you had the original one as well. Appreciate your work here.

Draft #27: I like the minimalism here, I really do. However, it might be a little too minimalist in the sense that I want to portray a little more than a lion's head. What I also like about it though is the white and black aspect. I know I have specified warm tones (please, keep bringing on the warm/green/earth tones!); however, anything that can also be versatile on a black/white platform holds a lot of weight. Again, I like designers providing those alternative looks on different backgrounds.

This is an image that we originally pulled from the Internet for inspiration. We are looking for something original and perhaps similar to it...again, it would need to be original...http://bit.ly/fvuGZ0

Drafts #22 and #23: I like the warm orange tones in #22, but unfortunately I'm not too hip in the design. The type font for "PRIDE" is a little too elongated and I don't like the bold lines. Sorry! I'm looking that "global reach" aspect as well. It certainly has the minimalist touch I am looking for though. The orange with the white lettering is pretty sharp - definitely warm enough but needs perhaps one more color to go along with it.
