Creative Brief

Sid Williams Theatre

Sid Williams Theatre Society

No

The Sid Williams Theatre requires a new brand to bring them into the 21st century. They'd like to start portraying themselves as a bit more 'hip' to attract younger patrons.

Here's their current site with the old logo: http://www.sidwilliamstheatre.com/

The site is being completely redesigned and the new brand will be part of that.

Their only stipulation for the new logo is to keep some sort of 'star' motif.

Neonlite, I like what you are doing. Could you show me a version with spacing between each word in the top and bottom of the lettering. Also, would this good with less colour on a solid colour background?

SoulTerror, thank you for you entry. I really like your fonts and the text in general. The illustration of the seats is just not exciting enough though. Maybe you can try some other sort of illustration there?

SandyCreative, I think you departed too much from the look you started with #4 and #5. Try something like #6 but with fewer stars and the 'Sid Williams' all on one line.

ScottPerry, rE: #11 and #12 I prefer the larger text of #11. Maybe try with a bit less stars. Feels too childish with that many stars.

ScottPerry, re: #10 I like a lot of things about this. The amorphous shapes are very cool. Love the lettering. How would it look on white bg?

ScottPerry, re: #14 I like the layout of the stars more in this one than in the #13. I like the lettering/fonts. I just don't like the bang or whatever it is. Looks kind of like a hand and they doubling-up of the graphic doesn't work for me.

Re: Draft #7 - I prefer the more serious and modern font in your previous comps. And again, the wording on one line.

SandyCreative, might not even need an icon between the stars and the wording. Please experiment with no main icon.

SandyCreative, I like your progress. I preferred the simplicity of the silhouette icon in your previous comp. I do like how legible the 'Theatre Society' is now but would prefer that there's more space seperating the words. Also, this logo will primarily be used on a brighter coloured background. Could you prepare a solid white logo, no colors necessary.

SandyCreative, I like the style you're starting to establish but I don't think a dancer is the right icon to use for this project. I do like what you've done with the stars. Also, 'Theatre Society' is too small. Thank you for your submission.

ScottPerry, I do like the fonts that you've chosen with one small exception. The crossing middle parts of the 'W' kind of bug me. Not a huge fan of the happy/sad masks. Maybe a different icon would be in order.
