lowerwatt.com The colors there are somewhat flexible since the site is self designed and they can be changed, but the basic color scheme (twilightish) is what I would want.

not sure

It is important that the logo look good when printed in B&W. Do NOT focus on green energy (such as based on a wind turbine which is very overused) although a slight allusion to it can be ok. A blue gas flame should be used with care since it is getting overused.

I wouldn't go with the drop design as we are not really dealing with any liquids. The gas I am referring to is natural gas as delivered by the utility and as used in stovetops etc.

One thing that I see has caused some confusion for those unfamiliar is the (, LLC). LLC is a legal structure for a corporation in the USA and in this context is similar to Inc. or Ltd. and therefore does not need to be a part of the design but can be if it is helpful to the designer. That is what is signified by the parentheses.

Just to clarify, I do not feel that there HAS to be a direct reference to energy in the design, but some designs will be better with it to "spice it".

10 and 11 are too much for me, 5 is also more of a local electrician feel. I like the concept of 6-9. Maybe tone down the flame on 6 to a nice calm controlled look from the more "raging fire" look that it has. I see that, in general, I am not liking the lightning bolts and I am leaning more to a logo on the side than on top. I would go with power line towers over lightning. Maybe even to mix it with the more subtle flame. I prefer the more traditional font look of 6, 7, and 4 over the more modern and trendy 8 and 9. The wife likes the graded font colors of 6-9. One advantage in 4 is that it is more timeless. I would want some sort of energy allusion in it though. Regarding colors I would prefer the colors of the body. I based it on this color scheme: http://kuler.adobe.com/#themeID/745462 with a little of this: http://kuler.adobe.com/#themeID/436409 There is no need for it to be exact as I can easily change it, but I like the basic idea. I am considering guaranteeing, but considering that you have no portfolio your unprecedented design concept alone won't make me do it.

Can you get some energy theme into 4?

My comments on the 4 here now to help you all out: 1 is very nice, but imho it has more of a "local electrician" feel to it. I would probably go with 4 over 2 and 3 because of the color contrasts.
