Describe who/what this design is about

We want to create a trade mark logo for gas station convenience store franchise chain. I would like an icon or mascot to go within the logo so that we would stand out and create a brand and promote name recognition. I have an example of a competitor which I have attached to give you ideas. Please make sure to incorporate the US flag colors, stars and stripes in the logo.
