The Compassionate Clown Company

Creating happiness, one smile at a time

Yes

The Compassionate Clown Company is committed to offering high quality children's entertainment to families and their children throughout Southern California. Based in Upland, CA, we service the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, and Orange Counties. We believe that celebrating a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or simply having a gathering with families is a time to cherish and we are dedicated to bringing you an unforgettable experience. Our cast of characters include: cute & friendly clowns, costumed characters, mascot characters, royal princesses, action heroes, balloon twisters, face painters, magicians, dancers, jugglers, caricature artists and more!~ Our entertainers are professional and our staff is friendly, courteous, and always ready to help you plan your perfect event.
The Compassionate Clown Company was formed out of Vanessa's love for children, animals and the environment, which is why we offer parents the choice of eco-friendly, all natural vegan or vegetarian face paints. These paints were not tested on animals and contain no harsh chemicals, lead, or other parabens. We also have the professional, cosmetic grade paints used by most professional face painters. The choice is yours!

Founded on compassion, we believe that entertainment is a vehicle for expressing and receiving love, wonder, and a place where make believe and the imagination comes to life before our eyes. We thrive on the richness and the talents of our performers, which is why we do not use animals in any of our shows, nor do we encourage using animals for entertainment. We leave the entertaining up to human beings who have a multitude of talents to share, and encourage human and humane entertainment.
We truly care about making a positive impact on the world through the smiles we create. We are proud to say that we support any efforts to helping children & animals. We support animal rescue organizations such as Animal Acres and do charity events for children each year.

We would like bright and colorful. Playful, fun, alive :) We leave this up to your imagination, and encourage the use of colors!~

Note: The types of clowns we send out are very cute and do not wear the white faces or have the big red noses or puffy wigs. Our clowns are very cute, friendly, and wear light make-up.

2nd note: When people think of clowns, they think often of circuses. Well, we're quite the opposite. You will not find any of our performers, or entertainers in circuses that use animals, as that is not the kind of entertainment we condone or encourage. We encourage human entertainment and humane entertainment on all levels :)

A heart felt thanks to everyone who worked on this project!~ We had a really hard time deciding on who should be the winner, and in the end, went with the logo that best fit what we were looking for an envisioned. Everyone brought forth a lot of talent and really made this process difficult which is why we took a few days to decide!~ We asked a few of you, if you would be open to having us purchase additional designs from you. Please let us know if this is an option. Again, we enjoyed seeing what ALL OF YOU came up with and created, and in the end, it was one difficult decision, but we are truly happy to have been inspired by what each of you brought to the table :) We thank you sincerely!~ -The Compassionate Clown Company!

Comment to all designers: We are just about 1 day and 4 hours or so away from the conclusion of the contest. We have a very hard decision in front of us- indeed!! So, we were just made aware that if we do pick a "winner", that we have the option of purchasing additional drafts from those other designs that we really liked. If each of you could message us directly and let us know if that is something you are open to, please do, as we are nearing the end of our contest. Thanks again to all of your hard and amazing work :)!!!

A note to all designers: We noticed that some of you have withdrawn your work and the competition is not even over...By that in itself, it removes you from the competition by your own choosing not ours. There are some that we have rated and some we have not. A rating really does not "mean" anything other than the "meaning" you give it. How can one measure creativity and art? In our opinion, one cannot. So if you did not get a rating, or if you got a "lower" rating, or a "higher" rating, it does not mean it is "bad" or "good" or we like it better or worse, it's just that a few of us will go in and rate. Some of us do, and some of do not. We'll jot things down on paper, etc.. So for those that have withdrawn, we ask that you reconsider at least so that we can decide on which we like, but that choice is entirely up to you! :) All the very best and much gratitude to your work, The Compassionate Clown Company

We have a very very hard decision in front of us!~~~~ And that is having to make a decision between all of the unique, fun, and creative visioning that each of you have brought forth and shared so openly. WOW!~ We are very impressed with what we have seen, and are happy with all of your submissions. Since the contest is about 2 days away from concluding, we want to thank you during this process for sharing your hearts, your creativity, your talents, and for opening within us that which we did not even see. Many of you have created Joy Joy the clown with such a delicateness, a playfulness that we never imagined and brought her to life. Our vision for what we thought we wanted in a logo has changed, thanks to all of you, and has expanded in a great way. We thank you for your patience, for making changes, revisions in a timely manner, and for your passion. Narrowing down our decision, we are leaning more towards a logo which depicts Joy Joy the clown, as she is our mascot and we want her to represent The Compassionate Clown Company. She is the clown with the purple wig in many of the pictures you see. She is a "compassionate clown" who loves animals, loves fun, and loves children. We will be using her image eventually in a series of stories for children, but that is later in the future, but something for your to keep in mind. A big thanks from all of us!~ -The Compassionate Clown Company!

Update: Just to keep everyone on track about this logo... We would like it to convey "The Compassionate Clown Company"... We're not just a clown company that does kids parties and that does clown shows.. We do so much more. We were founded on the basis of compassion for children, animals and the environment which is why we don't use animals in our shows, and our goal is to leave each child enlivened and fulfilled by their experience with our clowns, characters and entertainers. So if the logo could evoke the message of "compassion" with those elements in mind, that would be great. Look forward to your creativity!~ Thank you very much :)

Hello Designers!~ We've had a busy day of parties this weekend, so we apologize for not updating you... FIRST, GREAT job on your awesome work. We appreciate you!~ We do~!! Here it goes... #51 and #52, cute, but both are very dark backgrounds making logo hard to read. Like the character in #50 but not crazy about the font. We want a font that is easy to ready, yet, catchy, fun and sharp. #40 and #48, Like the font very much, could you try a variation of "brightening it up just a bit, perhaps a shade brighter to see what that looks like. The character girl is very cute, BUT we would like to see a variation of the character, and have her look like "JOy Joy" which is our most used clown. She is like our "mascot" and we'd like to see a stylized version of her. Though we like what you did, we would like to see your interpretation of her. Also the "dark blue outlining, perhaps could we try a new color?? perhaps a yellow, or something that brightens it up more. We just want to see a few variations of that. #45 and #43, cute but the font is not as sharp as we want it... Perhaps remove the "glimmer" or the "shine" on it to a more matte color, to make it look more crisp. Also the tagline on both is hard to read... EVERYONE IS Doing an amazing job!~ And we are AMAZED by all of your work and creativity. Look forward to seeing the new variations!~ All the best, The Compassionate Clown Company

We are very much pleased with all of the entries of everyone so far. Your talent is very much appreciated!~ Please have your "character" be a resemblance to Joy Joy the clown who is our most popular clown. She is the one in the purple wig. She can be seen on our facebook page and website down below: www.facebook.com/compassionateclowns www.compassionateclowns.com We made a modificatin to our tagline. Please include some versions with it, and some without: "Creating happiness worldwide, one smile at a time" OR "Creating happiness worldwide, one heart at a time" If using balloons, perhaps we can include a "globe as one of the balloons, as our parties are all about spreading compassion to children, animals and the environment. Sort of an eco-friendly feel to it, but still maintaining the "feminine" clown atmosphere that is being created with the use of fun fonts and colors. Again, we appreciate all of your work very much!~ -The Compassionate Clown Company NOTE: We will be using the logo for the following: buttons, shirts, and other promotional products. So if it's catchy to a child's eye, the better :)

Attention Designers, You may upload multiple variations of one logo in one draft for the presentation purpose. However, winner of the contest will have to send final files with each version separated hence, one file should only have one color version of the finalized logo. We would appreciate your cooperation in this regards. Thanks!

Note: Our company was founded on Compassionate. Not only for children, but for animals and the environment which is why we do not use animals in any of our shows. We have an eco-friendly, cruelty free face paint that parents can choose, but we also have the standard face paint most painters use. All of our costumes contain no leather, silk, wool, or fur.

We really like what has been done so far... Just a few notes on the TEXT. We'd like it to be a bit more "feminine". We like the multi colors, but with a feminine undertone. Whimsical is the word we're looking for. Also, as far as the character image of the clown, we'd like the character to be a stylized image of our most popular clown Joy Joy who is the clown in the purple wig. If you view our FB page, you will see her throughout the site: http://www.facebook.com/compassionateclowns Also, if children are depicted, if they could also be "multi cultural" as we cater to a wide range of children from a variety of ethnicities. We want to make sure that all are represented :) We love what's coming through, and just wanted to add these comments to help guide the direction we're looking to go in. Thank you!~ -The Compassionate Clown Company

Project Notes: If there is a clown to be added in the design, we would like to have her be a female clown as the majority of our clowns are female, and no "white face" traditional clowns. Our clowns are toned down, cute, friendly and very approachable. Also, as far as tone, we'd like to have it be with a feminine undertone. Tagline does not have to be included with the logo design. It is optional.
