IgC’s mission and purpose is to restore economic health, safety, and vitality to urban neighborhoods. Primarily, we do this by partnering with economic development organizations such as:

 Community Development Corporations (CDCs)
 Commerce Departments
 Offices of Business Services
 Cities and Municipalities
 Main Street Development Committees
 Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs)

In most cases, these organizations are non-profit entities working with locally-owned businesses of $5M or less. They receive city, state, and/or federal funding to pursue urban economic development, often being evaluated by the number of healthy businesses in their district, reduced vacancy rates, business compliance, job creation, and neighborhood safety and security.

IgC assists such organizations in achieving their goals by providing strategic business consulting services to the local businesses under their jurisdiction. This is a cost-effective solution, as the small businesses themselves rarely have the resources to invest in the business consulting they need to reach the next level. Having helped hundreds of retail and service businesses grow in strength and profitability, IgC is well-positioned to provide the one-on-one assistance economic development organizations are seeking to give their local businesses.

In addition to working with economic development organizations, IgC provides business consulting services directly to local urban businesses on an individual basis.
